Tonight we paid a visit to St. Nick. It was a great time! First of all, on a pratical (scrooge-y) note, it was good becasue there was NO LINE! which = NO WAIT TIME! and a relaxed Santa visit. Zach got real cozy with Santa, as you'll see below. I thought he was over Santa last year, but the magic seems to be continuing on....
Zach was quite comfortable to tell Santa all he wanted: a Star Wars force trainer, some legos, and a Wii. Tyler also wanted a Wii, but once we got there he said, "Mom, I'm scared." So I walked him up to Santa, introduced them and translated his wish to Santa so he didnt have to speak. Ty does that sometimes, gets real shy for some reason. Then , Cori REFUSED to sit with Santa... screaming and crying as if he were Satan himself. So, Santa suggested I sit in the photo as well.... hense the unplanned Mommy-in-the-photo look. Notice the clashing blue vest? flat hairstyle? yep.... thanks for capturing the moment, Santa. But, it did help Cori to cooperate.
In the car on the way there... I asked the boys to practice what to ask Santa (you know, to avoid the scene from "The Christmas Story" where Ralphie gets choked up and asks for something silly instead of his red-rider bee bee gun)
It went like this:
Ty: IM going to ask Santa for a Wii
Z: Tyler, you cant ask Santa for a Wii,
Ty: Why not?
Z: Well, I want one too but IM not going to ask him
Ty: Why not?
Z: Thats a present for next year
Ty: How come?
Z: Becasue Santa doesnt have alot of money this year. We have to wait.
I wonder if lots of kids think that in 2009! (wait till they get Nana and YOM's gift!!)
Turns out, when we got to Santa, he had... get this..... a Wii box sitting right next to his chair. Actually, there were 2 Wii boxes. I coulnt believe it! I wonder how much Wii paid to have that advertising! Santa's endorsement????? You cant BUY that!!!!
After seeing Santa, we toured the mall some then ate at Chic-Fil-A and then shelled out some quarters to let the kids ride some silly stuff. What suckers we are!
