Joy Thing #4: time with Ty

If you had visited our house this week, you would have heard a hissing sound pretty consistently, followed by a light mist. Thats becasue kids in our house have been sick and when that happens.....my husband likes to commence what I call "Operation Lysol Bomb".

Lets just say we take an active approach in killing any germs we can because if there is any hope at all of stopping the chain reaction of vomiting, we go all out!

However, in the midst of some sleepless nights and an overstuffed washing machine, I had a wonderful moment yesterday.

Cori was napping (thank God for small blessings) and so was Zach (thank God for MIRACLES!) since he had been up sick most of the night. So Tyler and I spent a quiet 2 hours together, basically alone. I realized it has been a looong time since he and i had hung out, just the 2 of us. I sometimes think he gets the short end of mommy's attention as the middle kid, and being that he is independant and content most of the time, I fail to "make time" just for he and I.

So, we had a blast. We played game after game after game.... he just kept picking them out and we had some fierce competition... Blokus, Castle Keep (a new fav), a time game, Guess Who I Am? (which i really dont care for), and this medieval game i cant spell. Thats what we are playing in this photo, and I was so thankful in the midst of sickness and grumpy-ness that I could have this wonderful moment with my son, uninterrupted. Its not likely to happen again anytime soon!
