Sailabration! 200 yrs after 1812

What a fun way to conclude our semester on Colonial/ Revolutionary War history study. Having made it to the 1800s, this was a perfect way to end our school year.  Baltimore went all out- with fireworks, Blue Angels, and LOTS of ships. Ships, ships, everywhere! Oh, and lots of flags too.

After visiting the inner Harbor, we went to the Star Spangled Banner House. It is Flag Day, after all! They were dedicating the flag that flew at the Trade Center during the 9/11 attack and it was later salvaged. The ceremony included stitching 3 threads from the original Star Spangled Banner (which is now in DC American History Museum) into this flag. It was cool to be there for that!
