Yep I thought it would be like this. Like my first entry, i doubted if i could keep this up or not. Sure enough, the daily needs of my family to not allow for time to sit, write, edit and post a photo or 2. So, as I gracefully exit this blog for a few weeks (or months), IM going to remind myself of a "Day in the Life" to ease my guilt.
2:30am - feed baby
4:00am still awake, cant get back to sleep.. fall asleep at some point?
6:45 awake, feed baby
get dressed, wake boys at 7:15, get them dressed, fix breakfast, baby dressed, referee argument between boys, backback packed, lunch made, empty dishwasher, shoes and socks on, put baby in stroller, talk to son about benefits of school and yes he has to go
8:15 walk to the bus, walk back, prevent 3yr old from running into street with speeding car, carry crying baby while pushing stoller, inside, baby down for nap, clean up bfast dishes, ask 3 r old to clean up some toys in playroom
9:15 do load o laundry, make bed, call prediatrician about referral for oldest, wait on hold 15 minutes, clean up clothes in room, wipe down counters, talk with middle
9:50 baby wakes up, change diaper, feed baby, then help middle in bathroom, check email, send email to MOPS and to oldest school, finish some school paperwork for field trip, keep middle from jumping on baby, clean spit up off floor, shirt, couch, and chair from morning movements
12ish baby takes another nap, fix lunch for middle, cut coupons and organize, take meat out of freezer for dinner, take down game and puzzle for middle, help him get dressed after stripping to go to the bathroom (this hapens 2x a day), check email, talk to DH on phone, clean kitchen from lunch, eat a snack myself standing up
1ish baby wakes and feed and change her again
1:30 clean powder room from middle child experience, play with baby and middle
2pm- let middle watch TV while i switch laundry, fold a load, get mail, change baby again fom spit up, change my shirt.2:30 baby takes another nap. i go to the bathroom for the first time since waking up.
3:10 wake baby from nap becasue we need to leave to get oldest from bus stop. middle cries from turning off tv, refuses to put shoes on, walk to bus anyway
3:30-5:30 watch boys play outside while talking to neighbor (1st adult all day) be on lookout for vanishing kids, injuries, brothers fighting, etc... come inside, start cooking dinner, supervise brithers playing and fighting, one gets time out, baby changed again. poop on floor and changing table to clean, soak and treat.
5:30 baby down for nap, boys entertained with legos, DH comes home, i am able to give the appearance of calm. DH goes upstairs, i get dinner preped, eat, help oldest with homewok, feed baby, clean up
7:30 bathe and feed baby put to bed at 8pm.meanwhile DH has been giving boys a bath. Read 2 books to boys, pray, say goodnight by 8:30pm
8:30 finish cleaning up kitchen, organize some toys, but leave most of them out. rotate laundry again, check email
9:30 shower 10pm read some in bed
start all over again

crazy day - i so appreciate the excellence with which you do all of that, honey. i'm not sure about the DH thing - am I the designated hitter, the dear husband or the deer hunter? must be MOPS shorthand...
ReplyDeleteit is amazing that you do this day in and day out and still have hair left on your head and look as great as you do! i love you and i thank God for blessing me with the greatest wife and mother to our children that this world will ever know!
be encouraged that all of these tedious and at times mundane activities are the very building blocks required for "exceptional projects" - i guess it's kind of like "red-lining", not a lot of fun but essential if form and function are to meet in the formation of these masterpieces.
