Tales from a Triathlon...TRY-ed and True!

I got there this morning at O-dark-thirty. Saw this sign, and I thought, "Am I in the right place? Triathlete? Oh, I guess that means me!!" HA!

Here was my set up in the transition area.... where I got to run in barefeet SOPPING WET from the pool to get on my bike. It was really cold. I basically looked around and saw what the other guys around me were doing and just did the same. I think it worked out well!

Will took this photo as I was finishing my bike portion, riding into the Georgetown Prep campus. At this point I was completely WIPED... the bike was alot harder than I had expected. So, when I saw him and the boys standing on the hill jumping up and down and yelling, "GO MOM!" I got a second wind! It was so great to see them. My mom and Cori had been just up the street too so it was great to have them cheer me on! See me sporting my very stylish red gloves? Not very hip, but Im so glad I brought them!

Here I am running down the stretch to the finish. My mom and Cori were standing at the top, so after a quick hug I knew the boys were just up ahead. I was EXHAUSTED! But it was so worth it.
Zach even jumped in to join me.... my favorite part of the race! Well, that and the fact it was the FINISH!

YEAH! Zach crossed the finish line with me.... I love this picture!
The time says 2:09.... but thats from the start of the first wave. I was in Wave #2, so I was very proud and thankful that I was able to finish in about 1:30. I hope to get my official time on the website soon.

I was so glad to be done! It was great to have my family there. They braved the cold, and waited for a LOOONG time for me, as Zach said. They were piled in layers of sweatshirts, and blankets trying to keep warm.
Everyone kept telling me how proud they were of me... but here are the 3 things I am MOST proud of!!
Thanks, Mom for coming and supporting me! And for helping Will get all the kids up and out early this morning!

GO TEAM ARMSTRONG! I love you guys! I couldn't have done it without all your help!

And thanks so much to everyone who donated to Autism Speaks on our behalf. Lets continue to pray for a cure for Autism! Please feel free to post a comment below!
