Life has been pretty mundane recently. Having an infant limits my ability to get out of the house, and also what I can "accomplish" while I am at home! Since I am such a task oriented person, this is always a struggle for me. But, over the past few days I've really tried to enjoy the small things, and remember the joy they bring me. Here are some of my most recent "happy moments":
- Hearing my daughter laugh for the first time
- Watching my oldest get off the school bus with a smile
- Enjoying a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper (well a part of it anyway)
- Coloring robot cars with my boys
- Going for a quiet walk in the cool drizzle, with baby in the stroller
- Talking to a friend on the phone for 5 minutes uninterrupted!
- Watching my husband and middle child cuddle and tickle in our bed
Its nothing earth-shattering, but in my world at the moment these things remind me why I'm home, and what I enjoy about being a mom.
