Recently we travelled to Richmond, VA to celebrate the 90th birthday of my husband's Grandmother. We visited with many family members, some of who I had never had the priviledge of ever meeting before!
Since then, I've thought about what it must be like to have lived 90 years and all the struggles she has faced in her life. A childhood during the Depression, living on farm all her life (until recently), growing her food, living on the land. She now has 7 great-grandchildren.
Here is a photo of her with our daughter. It strikes me not only of each of their beauty, but makes me think of all the dreams I have for my daughter's future.
