On Saturday, we went to
Goddard, and boy was it cool! The boys had a blast, but Cori was not too interested. That seems to be the way it is on these Family trips. One of these days I guess she'll be old enough! But, we did have a good time.

This was one of the coolest things they got to do. They had a robotics demonstration of some "Arms" they have built to repair satellites in space. Both Z and T got a turn to control the robot arms. They had to pick up a toy and move it to another location using a custom mouse connected to a computer. They were pros!

Playing with optics and color wavelengths.

This was a cryogenics demonstration- they made a mini superconductor with liquid nitrogen and magnets, froze balloons into a little raisin and then inflated them again, and freeze dried mini marshmallows we could then eat!

This is a model of the new telescope going into "deep space" it is under construction in NASA's "clean room" and it was HUGE! No smudges or lint allowed on that lens!

The fam standing in front of the centrifuge. 150 feet across. It makes roller coaster rides look like a sit and spin.

Our future scientist, or maybe botanist?

rocket power!

Look out, UFO in a red shirt at 2 oclock!

Its a bird...its a plane....its......Super Zach!!?????

And no space day is complete without a visit to The Galaxy FAAAR, far away.
This place was so cool, even I was ready to become a science buff. And science has never been "my thing". But i got the sense all the people who worked there were like kids on a playground and they coudlnt believe they got paid to go "play" every day. What a very cool place!
