Ty's Sports Party

Today was Tyler's birthday party an dwhat fun we had! We rented a gym near our house, since Ty wanted a sports theme, and its too cold to do all this outside. The other great part of this was that it allowed us to invite a BUNCH of friends (well, Tyler's friends) to play with us. Will was Master of Ceremonies and did a fantastic job!

Here is Dad gathering the kids, trying to explain a game called "mission impossible" where 2 teams have to get across the gym using scooters/skateboards and hoops without touching the ground.

Here they are playing "buddy tag" where they have to run in teams.

I did take lots of other pictures, but they were all blurry! These boys move FAST! It was really hard to get a good photo with my camera, so most of my shots are with them sitting, which only happened about 3 times all afternoon. The rest of the time they were all running non-stop!

Here is Ty at the football kicking station- Will had them rotate for football, and soccer, and basketball and some other Dads jumped into help out. Then, more relays and running. Then, after a good hour of activities it was ... CAKE TIME!

Cori chowing down. When I asked her later what was her favorite part of the party, she said, "the cake!"

Cori and her cousin riding the scooters. They had a slot of fun together and it was great to watch them play. Thanks, bro, for making it to the party an being such a HUGE HELP setting up tables, chairs and cleaning up! (In addition to general crowd control, safety patrol, and sports coach!). He and my sister-in-law were really helpful in the set up and just carting of STUFF from the car. I'm so glad they could join us.

I think the birthday boy had a great time. We survived with only one minor injury- a little girl got a bloody nose right at the end, but she was such a trooper! I'm thankful that's all we had- and with a room full of boys, she was brave enough to get in the mix of things! I think all the kids will sleep well after a good run around.
Happy Birthday, buddy. We love you!
